10 Prayer Resolutions for the New Year

You may have already set your New Year's resolutions in stone for this year. Still, I invite you to embrace one or more of these impactful prayer resolutions as you strive to become more like Jesus, the One who intercedes for us. Use these to empower you in achieving all your other resolutions. Remember, it is our mighty Heavenly Father who grants us the wisdom and strength to fulfill the aspirations we declare each January:

1."Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." — Proverbs 16:3 

Encouragement: Trust in the Lord and surrender your resolutions to Him, knowing that He will guide and establish your path.

2. "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33 

Encouragement: Prioritize your relationship with God above all else, and He will provide everything you need to fulfill your resolutions.

3. "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13 

Encouragement: Rely on God's strength and believe that with His help, you can overcome any obstacles and achieve your resolutions.

4. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5 

Encouragement: Place your trust in the Lord's wisdom and guidance, even when things don't go according to your plans.

5. "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." — 1 Corinthians 15:58 

Encouragement: Stay committed and dedicated to your resolutions, knowing that your efforts in the Lord are worthwhile and have eternal significance.

6. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." — Psalm 37:4

Encouragement: Find joy and satisfaction in your relationship with God, and He will align the desires of your heart with His will.

7. "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9 

Encouragement: Persevere in doing good and pursuing your resolutions, knowing that there will be a harvest of blessings in due time.

8. "The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him." — Psalm 28:7 

Encouragement: Rely on the Lord's strength and protection, and let your heart be filled with gratitude as you journey towards your resolutions.

9. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." — Jeremiah 29:11 

Encouragement: Rest in the assurance that God has good plans for your life, and He will guide you toward a future filled with hope.

10. "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." — Colossians 3:17 

Encouragement: Approach every aspect of your resolutions with a heart of gratitude, doing everything in alignment with the name of Jesus.
